The children
in the Welfare Center do not have many opportunities to make
friends with other people aside from their teachers
and classmates. Furthermore, they have even less opportunities
to know people from other countries. You are going to become not
only their international teachers but also their friends from
another country.
You will
play games with them, play basketball with them, teach them how
to draw pictures, how to use computers, etc. You will also teach
some children English.
Responsibilities
Working

Qualifications
To bring
brightness to children, you have to be patient, willing to
communicate with them and always be there for them.
Most
children cannot speak English. Even if you cannot speak Chinese,
you will need creative ways to communicate with Chinese children. Most
children are under the age of 16, so you have to be energetic.
Experience
working with children with special needs would be helpful.

Long Long
-
When you see
a little boy playing beautiful tunes on the piano, you might not
understand why such a brilliant boy was deserted and put into
the Welfare Center. He has no hearing aid on his ears. He has
two arms and two legs. Nothing different. However, if you see
the scars on his arms, you may understand why...
Fei Fei
-
Fei Fei, is
a sweet little girl who likes reading, drawing, playing with
dolls, watching cartoons just like other little girls. She also
likes singing and listening to music. But she isn’t able to
dance because she lost her left leg as the result of an
accident...
Yang Yang -
When you see
Yang Yang, he looks just like any other little boy, wearing a
cowboy suit and eating Chinese yam soup. You can also see a
smile on his face. But when you look closely, it is not
difficult to see that there is a hearing aid
in his ears. Yes, that’s the
difference between him and other children. And that’s also the
reason why his parents abandoned him...
